Helgi is an entrepreneur at heart who loves the art of the start. Through the course of his career, he founded and co-founded a number of companies including Gangverk, Locals Recommend, Inch and Sling (the latter was sold to a publicity traded company in the US in 2022).
Helgi is very resourceful and known for his grit when it is needed the most. He moved to New York City from Iceland to make it in America, and to ensure his startup was building a product perfectly fit for the US market.
Helgi is skilled in product development and sales, as well as in budgeting, cost administration and management. He is an exceptional leader and visionary, and sits on a few boards. As a founder, he will always take your side, and your phone calls, day or night!
Lyuba is the resident product scientist at Nordurver. She is responsible for engaging with founders on product strategy and execution.
Prior to joining Nordurver, she was a head of product at Sling (sold to Toast, Inc. in 2022). Born and raised in Russia, Lyuba graduated with a Master’s degree in International Management from the University of Reykjavik, and a degree in General Management from the Harvard Business School.
In her free time, Lyuba trains for marathons (a testament to her discipline and determination). Additionally, Lyuba’s love for languages feeds her insatiable thirst for knowledge and her commitment to embracing diverse cultures and perspectives.
Juyeon is a product designer at Nordurver. She is responsible for assessing product usability and optimizing user experience for the portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Nordurver, Juyeon was a senior product designer at Sling, where she worked on creating intuitive, engaging product experiences, focusing on usability, aesthetics, and user satisfaction.
Born and raised in South Korea, Juyeon graduated with a Master’s degree from the Parsons School of Design. In her free time, she loves spending time in nature, listening to music, and discovering the best coffee places in NYC.
Finnur is the CEO of Hagar hf., a leading retailer in Iceland in grocery and fuel services. He holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Iceland, M.A. and a Ph.D in the same subject from the West Virginia University, as well as the AMP in Business Administration from the IESE Business School.
From 2013 to 2020, Finnur was CEO of Origo hf., one of Iceland’s largest IT-services providers. Prior to that he served as the Executive Director of the Iceland Chamber of Commerce and as an associate professor at Reykjavik University School of Business, where he managed the development of the RU MBA and Executive Education programs.
Finnur has served on numerous boards in various industries, amongst those the RU Board of Trustees, Sling, Applicon, Tempo, and more.
